19/1/2025 Congratulations to Josh Murphy who completed a winter ride of HT550 in a time of 8:14:39
His ride started in snow and ice with temperatures of below -10 degrees but a rapid thaw meant very wet trail conditions from his third day onwards. Bike problems from day 2 slowed his progress but a replacement rear wheel in Ullapool allowed him to keep going to the finish. Despite spending 9 days on the trail, Josh never took any paid accommodation, showing remarkable will power to ride on into the night away from the warmth and comfort of hotels.
